Cherished memories

Another 45 minute layout. Thanks to the perfect  combination from Bo Bunny Serenade, it was easy to just add a few flowers and some bling. The stickers were an instant title and the journaling is hidden on a noteworthy card behind the photo.

I based this layout on the current challenge at Artful Delight.

My DH took this photo on Friday evening - DS was running a fever and all he wanted is lay with me. I could not move for about 2 hours (not that I minded - I was totally exhausted as well!!!)  DH and DD fixed dinner together (added bonus) while I was resting with DS.

Thank you cards

I realized that my stash of cards is almost used up! About time to get some more thank you cards done.

The first one was based on the sketch by Mojo Monday

My second was based on the sketch by Freshly made sketches Nr 72

My third one was based on the sketch by Unscripted Sketches 196

And my last one "just happened"

I am always amazed how generous and wonderful our community of scrapbookers and cardmakers is. So much inspiration and all for free. Can I say THANK YOU enough???

Thanks for stopping by!

Dec 25th

So, I am giving in. I accepted the fact that I have very limited scrapbooking time. This means if I want any layouts done, I have to make them more simple, no more stitching, etc. This layout was done in just under one hour.

I used the challenge of the sketchladies: the sketch, some round buttons or embellishments and at least one color that pops. Now, in real life, the read bow tie really stands out but with the bad photo conditions (either no sun or I have to work long and the sun is gone by the time I get home), it just does not come out. Whatever! I am happy I managed to get this cute moment documented!!!

orry for the glare on the photo - had to take it inside.

Snow

Middle of January, Vienna got a lot of snow! Finally enough to take the kids sledding.
Sarah loves it - she is such a wild girl, not afraid of anything. Michi, however, was not so into it, he still prefers the swing.

Get creative posted the challenge to use snowflakes.

I used the Powder Mountain from Bo Bunny and created a "hill" with the different papers.
Look at that cute little snowman - I inked the edges so he would stand out a bit more.

I really enjoy layering the different elements.

Calendar finished!

I am soooo happy! I managed to finish my Graphics 45 calendar. I just do not like it when I have got unfinished projects laying around. So last night, I got it done. Maybe not as creatively as I would have liked to but it got done, which fills me with deep joy and happiness.

A few things, I have learned along the way:
1. READ the instructions, that Conny (the wonderful owner of my LSS) gives you. Seriously. Would have saved me a lot of trouble with the binding - this is the first time I have used it.
2. Don't walk with scrapbooking stuff in your hand with a 13 months around. See how crooked the binding is? - I wont go into details. It was all my fault.
3. Sometimes keeping it simple is totally ok.

First, I wanted to give it away as a gift. When I realized how pretty it turned out, how much work went into it and how happy it makes me looking at it, I decided to keep it for myself and put it on my desk at work. Each month, I will add a brand new photo of my two babies.

Without any further ado, here it is.

Each side has a backside with a pocket in it - they all look quite similar, so just one photo here

Almost everything is from Scrapme. I just added bits and pieces from my stash to each page.

Happy

And again, I decided to venture into a different style. Well, it was not really a decision, it happened that this layout stayed very simple.

At the last crop of my beloved LSS SCRAP ME I got these papers for half price. And since it is still terribly cold, and grey and yucky and horrible, I decided to scrap a summer picture. Perfect combination. Throw in the monthly sketch from the SAMPLER KIT CLUB -  great!

I did not intent the simplicity of this layout, it just happened. I put lots and lots of different embellishments on the page and took it off again. It was just meant to be this way.

The photos were taken last summer at Mattsee, a wonderful little lake close to Salzburg, Austria. DD loved "driving" the boat!!! The wonderful lady is my "bonus mother". When I moved to Vienna, I was only 17 and felt kind of lost in the big city. She is the best friend of my highschool French teacher, who asked her "to look after me". Now she is not only my very good friend, but also the "bonus grandmother" to our children. I am so thankful to have her!

Did I ever mention, how much in love I am with our kids???

Have a good week!
All the best,
Elisabeth

G45 Calendar

My absolute wonderful LSS Scrap Me has put together this great calendar kit.
Here is my first page: Front

And back

The backside has a flap to keep memorabilia of this month.

It is an easy project, perfect for now that I am quite tired most of the time! I have completed my first month back to work and until now, everything is going smoothly. We are a great team -  my DH, my Day Nanny and my Manny. This way, we are able to take good care of our babies and still go to work.

DS is suffering a lot with his 9th (!) tooth coming in. Last night, he ran a fever and just wanted to lay in my arms.

Thankfully, DD is healthy as can be and LOVES using her "computer" to practice spelling.

That's it from me!
Thanks for stopping by - I love reading your comments.
All the best,
Elisabeth
