Monday

I finally managed to participate in the Swirlyhues challenge! I had fun playing with the colors and using the sketch. The challenge from Quick Quotes is to use fussy cutting! I sure did that, too. So I am turning this in for this challenge as well. I hope, this is ok!

DS is a very happy boy, laughing almost all the time.

I did quite a bit of fussy cutting on the branch and the bird.

Thanks to OZMAGI for the beautiful mini flower vines she sent me. It fits perfectly. Thank you!!!!

Off to pack up for our pick-nick today. So looking forward to it.

A Dream Come True Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

When I first got the Ambrosia collection, I was a bit intimidated by the vivid colors. But once I had the perfect photo for it, it came together really well.

Here is my take on the monthly Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge.

DD was allowed to ride a horse at the end of the festival of the horses at the local military museum. She had such a good time!

And here is the sketch, I based it on.

I did some fussy cutting and made the embellishments from the paper. I like using the foam pads for added dimension.

My life will be a bit less serene as DS (not even 5 months) is mobile! He scoots on his back around the apartment. Time to baby-proof the place.

My evil plan.....

is coming together. I have successfully infected DD with the scrapbooking virus! (Evil laugh).
This morning, her baby brother was very difficult. So she sneaked into my office, got some photos and paper out of the "special box" (stuff she is allowed to use) and disappeared into her room. About an hour later she showed me this.

She is only 6 years old and I think she did a great job all by herself.

My little boy loves playing "This big"

While my big girl likes to be outside!

Friday

I find it very difficult to find titles for my posts. Names of my layouts are usually in German so they don't mean a lot and otherwise, nothing really spectacular happens in my life - which is a good thing! Maybe I should just stick with the day of the week. What do you think?

My layout does not have a photo - yet! It is for my baby sister (well, baby is relative - she turns 32 in June....). In September, she will have a baby! It will be a girl, Martina. We are all very excited for her and yet sad since the baby will be born in Bogota, Columbia. I do hope that they will come to Europe soon. My mother will fly over for the birth, so I had to get the layout done ahead of time. (My mother lives in Australia but will come to our DS baptism in 2 weeks.....)

Purple is her favorite color and I used some of the purple flowers which I used for the decoration of the wedding last August. All items are from the May Swirlydoos Kit with a few bits and pieces from previous ones. The butterflies are from LISA GREGORY! THANKS!!!

My little girl was a dangerous cow girl this week. She participated in the "festival of the horses" at the military museum.

And my sweet little boy is just "beary cute"....

Little Piggies

Wow, time flies. I noticed it the other day, when my little baby boy discovered his toes! He is so big already. He can do so many things - it is amazing how much he has changed in the last 4,5 months. Scary, in a way.

I documented this adorable moment with this layout. Zecherl means little piggies. And the journaling reads: 1. socks off, 2. find toes, 3. hmmmmmm

I based it on the sketch 208 by Creative scrappers.

Talking about growing up too fast. Do you remember when I posted this photo? This was on January 3rd when he came home from hospital.

And this photo was taken yesterday. Same crib. Scary. His new bed should arrive next week and I guess we need it already. He has outgrown the family crib so fast.

Baden Sketchabilities

On Thursday, we drove out to Baden bei Wien to celebrate my nephew's confirmation. I love family gatherings. We get along really well and it is so nice to see many of them on such a happy occasion. The weather forecast was sunny and warm..... the scrapper in me started thinking - I got the new country garden collection from Bo Bunny with lots of blues......let's see.....my little girls Dirndl is blue.....I can dress Michi in blue..... you get the idea! Then, it was so cold when we took the picture that DD had to wear hear sweater ....which is bright pink. Sigh.....

So I had to tweak it a bit and added some pink from Prima Meadow Lark and I used the "fade color" option in iphoto since the pink is really, really pink.

Here is a close up of the sewing, title and journaling.

I based it on the sketch 71 from Sketchabilities. I only flipped it since the paper had the cute pattern in the upper right corner, which I used for the title.

Schönbrunn Get Creative

Finally I get to play with the Ambrosia kit from Bo Bunny. The vivid colors are perfect for Summer layouts. This photo was taken at our recent trip to the zoo. DD is growing up so fast! She is a little lady who know exactly what she wants.

The layout is based on Get Creative sketch from May 15th.

This time, I played with the title quite a bit. Took half of a journaling card, punched the butterflies, added prima crystals and layered another tag on it.

Yesterday, we went to my nephew's confirmation. I love family festivities. And as a nice side effect, I almost always get cute pictures of my kids! The weather was really beautiful but sooo cold!

Family Photo Swirlydoos

I finally got our first real family photo scrapped. I am very happy how it turned out. Simple, but effective. I will put this one in a frame and hang it in the living room.

I am still using the April kit from Swirlydoos. There is just so much pretty stuff in it (I think I am repeating myself here.....)

Prima Almanac really grew on me. I was not so sure in the beginning but I love it now. I am turning this in for the butterfly challenge at swirlydoos.

View from where I sit

At the moment, I have no time to scrap because I am performing with the Wiener Singverein in the Musikverein in Vienna. Thanks to my sister and my husband who take care of the kids during the rehearsals and performances, I can truly enjoy this fabulous opportunity.

This is the view from the first row of the soprano section. I love the golden hall of the Musikverein. Just so beautiful and the acoustics!

I loved the collection of the different mallets of the timpani player.

Drummers often have to wait for a long time in between. They are always equipped with magazines, books, ipads, iphones etc to use the time. Some even do their finances.....

Happy mother's day to all of you!

Zoo SWIRLYDOOS

I am almost at the end of my April kit from Swirlydoos. Again, it was full with yummy stuff and great embellishments. I based this layout on the monthly sketch challenge from Artful Delight. I followed pretty much the design of it - I just replaced the hexagons with the Prima Art Tiles.

I hand cut the stamp design, distressed it and inked it. I then stamped the background. I am not a big stamper, but quite pleased how it turned out. I cut out the ATC cards from the patterned paper, colored the bling with copic markers and then put everything together.

The photos were taken at our recent trip to the Schönbrunn Zoo. I dressed DS in a monkey outfit (could not resist LOL). My cousin is holding my sweet godchild and on the other photo  is my nephew with DD. They are both full of energy and always quite fun!

Here is a close up of the title and the flower cluster.

This is the sketch from Artful Delight.

card with 4 little boxes

I am always impressed how generous, sweet and kind scrappers are. I saw a boxed card on scrapbook.com and asked Ozmagi how she did it. Not only did she send me the pattern all the way from Australia - she also sent me a card filled with the most beautiful handmade flowers. How sweet is that!

So, I took her pattern and made this masculine travel card for my nephew. His confirmation is next week and we are all contributing to his weekend trip to Venice.

I will leave you with a short video of DH playing with DS. He just kept cracking up and had the best time!

Getting to know my sewing machine

A few months ago, I got a wonderful Singer sewing machine for a really good price. Slowly but surely, I am getting the hang of using it on my layouts. My lines are not straight (yet) but I guess this will come with practice.

My sweet family, snuggling on the couch. I loved the soft colors of the photo, which I repeated in the layout. All papers and embellishments are from the Swirlydoos April kit. The buttons and the chain are from a previous kit. The frame around the journaling is from Conny at scrap me. You can find her shop HERE. The frame was just 90 cents, a real deal. I based this layout on the latest challenge of FROSTED DESIGNS.

The card is also made from items from the same kit. I based it on the sketch of CardPatterns.

Swirlydoos Anatomy of a layout part 2

I loved Karola's anatomy so much that I decided to make a matching page with the picture of my sweet DS.

When I first saw the Prima Almanac series online, I was not convinced, But when I got it in the kit, I was really surprised how sweet and versatile it is.

Swirlydoos Anatomy of a layout

Every month, one of the super talented ladies from the Swirlydoos Design Team publish a tutorial of a layout. This month, Karola uploaded the photo tutorial to the forum. You can find it HERE.

Here are a few details featuring the fabulous April Kit!

We had over 30°C on the weekend! The perfect weather for a picknick in the park.
