Family Photo Swirlydoos

I finally got our first real family photo scrapped. I am very happy how it turned out. Simple, but effective. I will put this one in a frame and hang it in the living room.

I am still using the April kit from Swirlydoos. There is just so much pretty stuff in it (I think I am repeating myself here.....)

Prima Almanac really grew on me. I was not so sure in the beginning but I love it now. I am turning this in for the butterfly challenge at swirlydoos.

View from where I sit

At the moment, I have no time to scrap because I am performing with the Wiener Singverein in the Musikverein in Vienna. Thanks to my sister and my husband who take care of the kids during the rehearsals and performances, I can truly enjoy this fabulous opportunity.

This is the view from the first row of the soprano section. I love the golden hall of the Musikverein. Just so beautiful and the acoustics!

I loved the collection of the different mallets of the timpani player.

Drummers often have to wait for a long time in between. They are always equipped with magazines, books, ipads, iphones etc to use the time. Some even do their finances.....

Happy mother's day to all of you!

Zoo SWIRLYDOOS

I am almost at the end of my April kit from Swirlydoos. Again, it was full with yummy stuff and great embellishments. I based this layout on the monthly sketch challenge from Artful Delight. I followed pretty much the design of it - I just replaced the hexagons with the Prima Art Tiles.

I hand cut the stamp design, distressed it and inked it. I then stamped the background. I am not a big stamper, but quite pleased how it turned out. I cut out the ATC cards from the patterned paper, colored the bling with copic markers and then put everything together.

The photos were taken at our recent trip to the Schönbrunn Zoo. I dressed DS in a monkey outfit (could not resist LOL). My cousin is holding my sweet godchild and on the other photo  is my nephew with DD. They are both full of energy and always quite fun!

Here is a close up of the title and the flower cluster.

This is the sketch from Artful Delight.

card with 4 little boxes

I am always impressed how generous, sweet and kind scrappers are. I saw a boxed card on scrapbook.com and asked Ozmagi how she did it. Not only did she send me the pattern all the way from Australia - she also sent me a card filled with the most beautiful handmade flowers. How sweet is that!

So, I took her pattern and made this masculine travel card for my nephew. His confirmation is next week and we are all contributing to his weekend trip to Venice.

I will leave you with a short video of DH playing with DS. He just kept cracking up and had the best time!

Getting to know my sewing machine

A few months ago, I got a wonderful Singer sewing machine for a really good price. Slowly but surely, I am getting the hang of using it on my layouts. My lines are not straight (yet) but I guess this will come with practice.

My sweet family, snuggling on the couch. I loved the soft colors of the photo, which I repeated in the layout. All papers and embellishments are from the Swirlydoos April kit. The buttons and the chain are from a previous kit. The frame around the journaling is from Conny at scrap me. You can find her shop HERE. The frame was just 90 cents, a real deal. I based this layout on the latest challenge of FROSTED DESIGNS.

The card is also made from items from the same kit. I based it on the sketch of CardPatterns.

Swirlydoos Anatomy of a layout part 2

I loved Karola's anatomy so much that I decided to make a matching page with the picture of my sweet DS.

When I first saw the Prima Almanac series online, I was not convinced, But when I got it in the kit, I was really surprised how sweet and versatile it is.

Swirlydoos Anatomy of a layout

Every month, one of the super talented ladies from the Swirlydoos Design Team publish a tutorial of a layout. This month, Karola uploaded the photo tutorial to the forum. You can find it HERE.

Here are a few details featuring the fabulous April Kit!

We had over 30°C on the weekend! The perfect weather for a picknick in the park.
