Getting to know my sewing machine

A few months ago, I got a wonderful Singer sewing machine for a really good price. Slowly but surely, I am getting the hang of using it on my layouts. My lines are not straight (yet) but I guess this will come with practice.

My sweet family, snuggling on the couch. I loved the soft colors of the photo, which I repeated in the layout. All papers and embellishments are from the Swirlydoos April kit. The buttons and the chain are from a previous kit. The frame around the journaling is from Conny at scrap me. You can find her shop HERE. The frame was just 90 cents, a real deal. I based this layout on the latest challenge of FROSTED DESIGNS.

The card is also made from items from the same kit. I based it on the sketch of CardPatterns.

Thanks for stopping by!
All the best,
Elisabeth

  1. Hello Elisabth.
What a stunning Layout, love the soft colours you have chosen to go with the pale coloured photo, perfect.
I love to use my sewing machine, but sometimes I forget about it and then think oh why did i not use it! Don't think lines have to be straight. I like to do a "wonky" line and then go over it with another wonky line, that looks good too.
    Happy Sewing.

  3. Your LO is just gorgeous!! I love the soft color palette with your photo and all the embellishments you used. What a beautiful card too. I have a sewing machine. A Janome brand. I have never used it on paper before. I will be whipping up some camera strap covers for my camera and a friend's though. :)
