I have been very lucky and sold several Christmas cards in the last few weeks. Yesterday evening, I got a call for another card - He needed something "pretty, not too vintage, kind of cool" for the travel voucher for his wife.
So I tried a twisted easel card. I love it!
The name of his wife is made in mini alphas onto a cute little suitcase underneath the words "The world awaits..."
When she gets the card, it will look like this.
I used quite a few 3D dots for added dimension.
I love it when I get paid for something that I really enjoy....
And our sweet children? They are cute as can be. I am so thankful to have them, even though they drive me insane and rob my sleep. DS has been really sick - it is so scary when they run a high fever. But just a day later, he is fine as nothing ever happened. I introduced him to drawing - he loves it!
And DD had a Christmas Party at school where all parents were invited. Such a fun time with food from all kinds of nations (the fun of being in an international school!), games and dance.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can enjoy Advent as much as I do.
All the best,
Elisabeth

Travel and Explore
I am so proud of my sweet girl. She grows up bilingual(ly) and goes to an international school. Since German is only taught as a foreign language, we have to work on her German almost every day to make sure she keeps up with the Austrian curriculum. It is not always easy to come home at 4pm just to do another lesson and then do her normal English homework. She understands the importance of it and it is a trade off for being able to go to such a great school, which she adores.
Here she is, exploring the German language, traveling through spelling, grammar, composition and reading.
I used the November kit from Swirlydoos and the sketch challenge from Artful Delight.
A few weeks ago, I posted about making Christmas cards with DD's class. Well, last week we did it and here is her work of art.
Here are some more from other kids - we had lots of fun, especially with the embossing with my Cuttle Bug. The boys thought it was "way cool".

Advent
Once Upon a Sketch has a wonderful challenge. The sketch is great and the theme "It's December" very appropriate!
Here is my take on it.
Journaling reads:
The best of advent, apart from the rehearsals for the Christmas musical, is the advent calendar (according to Sarah!) Even before going to the toilet in the morning, she races to open up the little gift - a chocolate, a pencil, stickers or something fun for the bathtub.
29 days left before I return to work. Next week, I have 3 meetings to ensure smooth handover of the classes and budget. Sigh. I love my work but I also love staying home with my babies for a full year.
Have a great weekend and a blessed advent.
All the best,
Elisabeth

Christmas Card
This one will be for my Nanny. She is a wonderful lady and both my kids love her so much.
I played along with the BINGO challenge at Get Creative. I chose patterned paper, ribbon and die cut
These are the left overs of the Bo Bunny Winter Joy collection. I like the non traditional colors - a nice change.
Thanks for stopping by!

The best gift
Goodness! I just got the kids home from school and we were hit by a snowstorm. 2 kids on scooters, one kid in the stroller fighting the wind and snow and of course, the streetcar was delayed. BRRRR!
Just a few hours ago, the sun was shining and I was able to take a picture of my latest layout - the best gift ever.
The sketch was provided by the sketch ladies with the challenge to scrap Christmas photos and use some embossing.
I used almost a whole bottle of gold stickles on this layout. I just could not stop - typical case of gold fever???? LOL!!!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great Advent season and can enjoy it.
All the best,
Elisabeth

11 months ago, our sweet little boy was born. He was a real gift. First, we could not get pregnant again, then I miscarried. When I was finally pregnant again, I was in hospital 3 times, almost lost him! Then he was delivered a week early by emergency caesarian. Talking about a rough time. But now, he is the sweetest, happiest and easiest young boy in the world. That's him today, feeding himself with 2 spoons.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great Advent season and can enjoy it.
All the best,
Elisabeth

Family Traditions
I am such a lucky girl. During my maternity leave, my students were taught by a most inspiring, glamorous, fun and great lady. When I go back to work in 33 days, I know that everything will be perfectly done and I can just pick up where she left. No drama, no hassle, no catching up. How great is that?
This morning, we had coffee together - I truly enjoyed that. DS was on his best behavior, playing nicely next to the table and being his totally adorable himself. My friend asked me to create a Christmas card for her family (which is, by the way most fabulous. I already taught her older son, who is nothing short of a saint and am looking forward to teaching her younger son as well very soon!)
With the terrible weather (snowing like crazy) it was hard to get a decent shot of this card. I think this is my favorite card so far this season - probably because it was done for my sweet friend.
In other news, DS has started feeding himself with a spoon. He loves it, I just need to find a BIG plastic cloth to protect the surroundings of his high chair LOL!

Favourite Place
My November kit from Swirlydoos has been neglected a bit - last night, I finally managed to finish this layout. The photos were taken this summer in Upper Austria, where we could always eat outside- something I LOVE doing.
I based it on the sketch from Creative Scrappers.
The fine flower work on this sketch inspired me to finally use the dusty attic die cut, which I had been hoarding for a long time. Thank you Kiki!!!!
DH has been so sweet this weekend. He always cooks Friday to Sunday and yesterday, he made my plate look extra special. How cute is that. He also played with the kids, so I could have some playtime!
