Our little angels

Our school photographer is a saint! She takes photos of 1500 students, 200+ adults, all the class photos, teams and still has the patience for sibling photos. My DS was not very cooperative and yet she did not give up until we got this cute shot!

We are just so lucky to have these children. Especially if you consider how long it took us to get our little one and how many times we almost lost him. Both kids are healthy, full of energy and real rascals. One cannot ask for more.

Since blue is my all time favorite color, I made sure DD wears something blue that day!

I just LOVE the new Prima resin and metal embellishments. The little cherub was just perfect for this layout.

I like my new spellbinders dies. They look great.

I really wanted some bling on this layout to compete with the sparkle in our kid's eyes

Some layering, some more bling, punches and done.

Isn't she the cutest bat? I made the costume. The best part was the cost: 4Euros and 20 cents.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Halloween!

Fall in belvedere

These are now the very last bits and pieces of my October kit from Swirlydoos. I love the different color schemes.

We took a walk in the botanical garden with our friend.

I had fun with this flower cluster. I inked the flower, stamped on it and added yellow beads to the black leaves.

Some washi tape and the great ribbon from the kit made the layering complete.  The abc paper is from a previous kit.

The fence is from fabscraps. I colored it with vintage photo, black sot and wild honey to give it the main color. Then I used the background stamp to add some texture to it.

Cute as a button

DS has finally established some kind of routine. We already had a really good one and then the teething started messing up everything. Now we are on a good schedule with a short nap around 9:30 and a longer nap (about 1 hour) at 2pm. After that nap, he is very cuddly and likes to snuggle into DH or myself and snooze for about 3 more minutes. Those times are so precious. He then smiles when he is half asleep.... after that he is very playful!

It is based on the sketch by "The sampler kit club with this sketch

I had to flip it since there is that beautiful birdcage on the paper and I did not want to cover it up.

Close up of the title and the sewing. I used the scallop from "sew easy".

I used bits and pieces of old Swirlydoos kits for this layout with the exception of the red flowers which are from SCRAPME

I colored the zva bling with black copic markers and added some red pearls.

With the terrible weather, it is really hard to get decent shots of the layout. One of the annoying aspects of fall.

Here I am using my new spellbinder die cut- I first had it in green but did not like it. Then I just used the same cardstock as for the title and for me, this works better.

DD and I went to a local craft fair last weekend. It was a great mommy-daughter time and she made some beautiful items. I have to say I am very happy that we share this hobby.

Happy Birthday, Austria!

Today is our national celebration day. There are festivities all over the city and I took the kids to the Rathausplatz where all the emergency services presented their services. Sarah had a blast! She was allowed to inspect the emergency helicopter

She tried out how to drive the underground on a simulator

Michi was warm and cozy in his stroller. ( I love his new cute gloves)

Yes, we went up with the fire fighters! 30 meters high. Boy, did we have FUN.

The bouncy castle was a hit

 and face painting a must.

Seeing all the Christmas cards on the galleries got me started. To warm up, I made 6 very simple cards.

language morning

My DD loves going to school. She adores her first grade teacher and the program offered at school. Last Friday, we were invited to attend the language morning. They basically showed a normal lesson and we were given information on how language is taught at the school.
I was so impressed with the way everything went. The kids were all engaged, moving independently from station to station. The classroom atmosphere was so inviting and the activities meaningful and motivating. Being a teacher myself, I am always overly critical but I was really pleased.

I took this photo during one of the activities - she just looks so happy and content.

I based the layout on this sketch by Creative Scrappers. I love the many different layers! I replaced the stars with hearts and flowers and had to move the title since my photo is landscape.

All goodies are from the Swirlydoos October kit and some papers from the past kits. I fussy cut a lot (the grey flowers and the title tag) but you cannot really see it on this photo.

Adorable little hearts

Journaling as a pullout tag.

I will leave you with a photo of my men in my life. DS cuddling with DH after he just woke up from his nap.

Good times

The challenge over at Once Upon a Sketch is to use the sketch provided as well as this quote

Here is my take on it - almost everything is from the Swirlydoos October Kit.

I love this quote. It is so true. Who cares that to the right of my sweet son you can find a whole pile of unfolded laundry!  I just focus on him and his sister. They are important. Laundry will be done later but when they are awake, it's playtime.

I stitched around the shape, which I cut out from a 12x12 paper. The title is from Heidi Swapps sentiments (just cut from different sections)

Prima and Petaloo goodness.  See his little tongue sticking out? So cute!

The clock is from Fabscraps with lots of liquid pearls.

Here is the journaling. In addition to the quote I have added: it is clear that this year is all about the family. The other things will be taken care of as well....later. October 2012

For the ornament at the top, I used 2 different colors of liquid pearls. I did not let it dry completely before adding the other color which made this cool "run in" effect.

Here is the tag pulled out.

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon in the botanical garden. The light was GOLDEN!!!!!

Cute little card for a cute little girl

To match the layout which I posted yesterday, I made this sweet little card.

Otherwise, I am just sooo tired. DS has a cold and is teething. He wakes up about every 2 hours and is awake by 4:30.... sigh. I am just thankful that I do not have to work yet. 79 days left..... I really try to enjoy it. Yesterday, after dropping DD off at school, I went for a little walk to enjoy the  fall colors in the park next to our apartment.

Ivy

My colleague just became a grandmother and she gave me those cute pictures of this fascinating and cute little girl Ivy.

Based on the sketch from My Creative Sketches, I came up with this.

Here are some details:

I LOVE the prima zippers. This one says SWEET.

Look at that little girl isn't she adorable??

I played around with the title. Really like this metal frame.

I put everything in a shadowbox frame. Now it looks quite sweet.
